Welcome to the December edition of the VDL Agrotech @grotrends newsletter! The highlights in this edition are: Flashback on a successful EuroTier 2016, VDL feeding systems installed at a fish farm in Portugal.

 

Flashback 2016

Entering the last week of 2016, we look back at yet another year full of challenges and opportunities. 2016 was a good year for us, where new markets were entered, and existing markets further explored. All this we could not have achieved without the appreciated co-operation with all our customers, for this we would like to express to you our thanks, and we look forward to continuing this co-operation in 2017 and onwards. For now we wish you a very Merry X-Mas and a Happy, healthy and peaceful 2017, and a time to enjoy a short break with your loved ones the coming week. We welcome you again on January 2nd for a fresh start of the New Year.

 EuroTier 2016

VDL Agrotech was present at the Eurotier 2016 in Hanover, Germany. In hall 3, stand A55. From 15 till 18 November.

During the EuroTier 2016 we launched a new corporate identity, one in which it is clearly visible that we are active in four sectors: Breeding, Broilers, Pigs and Drying technology. Each with its own identity logo.

During the exhibition we welcomed many visitors from all continents of the world.

Geert-Jan Camps held a presentation together with dr. Bram Bos of the University of Wageningen on the Windstreek concept. The innovative broiler farm Windstreek is now one year in operation and the results were presented during the EuroTier 2016.

 Fish farm in Portugal

Together with our Norwegian partner AquaOptima we supplied a completely computer controlled feeding system for an eel-farm. FindFresh based in Portugal produces 500 tons of eel per year. The complete plant started operating last summer.

The supplied feeding system consists of an intake system where bins are filled by big bags, a weighing system to weigh exact portions of feed and to dose them on the feeding circuit. Furthermore we supplied a filling system and 2 VDL600 feeding circuits with pneumatic valves to transport the exact dosed portions to the right tanks with fish. Also the computer control system is supplied by VDL.
